Here is the story, I bought a TIG welder recently and love it.
I have been cutting stuff in half to weld it back together. Owners manual for peugeot 407. So I get a quick exhaust job on the lift and break out the Solar mig.
Well I touched the tip to the pipe ( the tip always stuck out past the gas shield) and tripped the breaker. Now every time I pull the trigger it immediately trips the breaker.
So is it jealousy or something else? I know it's not a great mig but it was perfect for exhaust work. Century did cut things close. Diodes have a surge rating and a RMS (ave long time rating) The surge rating can 4 to 5 times greater than the RMS rating and more. I have seen some diodes RMS rating was 2 amps and the surge was 30 Amps.
With a 20% duty cycle rating they are living on the edge. When your 60 amp diodes fail. Try to find some 90 or 100 amp diode to replace them. Even if you have to drill out the hole in the heat sink. Make sure the PIV rating is over 200 volts. The higher the better on the PIV rating. (peak inverse voltage).

Well to make a long story short, in the shop I used to rent we had a dog and the welder sort of ended up being used as his pissin post.
The control for the wire speed got corroded inside and ruined. I got the closest one I could from Radio shack but it has never been quite right. It is very very touchy.
Then then heat selector control froze up from corrosion so I figured at this point maybe better off replacing the whole board. Welder does still work but i can't change heat settings on it.
Also I can't remember what the other controls on it were for because the paint and stickers all peeled off the front of it. Funny thing is back then i had ordered a whole new decal pack from Solar for it.
I still have a poor copy of a faxed parts list from solar(back before the internet days). I can't remember for sure but I think the other control was spot/stich?? I keep looking around the net for a good picture of a 2120 from the front. If I knew the values of the control pots I could probably order them and salvage the circut board but i can't even measure the heat selector because it's frozen and the wire speed is not original. It's hard to weld with it because it's stuck on one heat setting(not sure which) and the wire speed is so sensitive.
If your manuals have a good pic of the front of the machine so i can remember which control did what and possibly the values of the control pots I could fix it. The liner in question is a Tweco mini mig style liner. I think the Part # is 35-3035-15.
The (1st#) is the series the 2nd # is the Wire Diameter.030.035 and the 3rd # is the length. Should be in the $12-$20 Range. I can ship you one if you like. Message me if you would like, and I will get you a solid price, and ship it Monday.
I don't know the exact price, cause I am not in the office. They also make them for.023 wire, if you are running it, and they make them in a.035.045. Hope this helps.
