Toyota Alphard Manual 2015 Late
OMG, what were the designers thinking when they design (can I even use this word at all) the Alphard front end? It looks hideous.:( No wonder most JDM models remained in Japan. The shape and design will not work in other countries. Seems like the front and rear end looked super busy while the side profile continues to be simple slabsided affair.
Seriously, this new Alphard does looked like some cheap rip offs from any Chinese manufacturers. Toyota may have outsourced the designs to China to keep the cost down haha. Vellfire looks better but I wont call it pretty either. Understanding Types/Specs After analysing the website.
Toyota – Alphard car owners manual 2008 – 2015 - Trade Me Motors. Mazatrol m32 operators manual. New cars and used cars, motorbikes, boats and more for sale on trademe.co.nz.
Spoke to some PI, browse the brochure (thanks to the PI), this is what I conclude.pls edit/add for any errors, thanks. Alphard vs Vellfire - only exterior differences, interior is the same (for the same specs).
Borneo motors will bring in alphard only, not vellfire. BM alphard will have English wording in speedometer, no limit on cruise control at 110km/hr, English manual, LTA friendly not dark tinted middle and third row. Checking the Toyota Japan site, the list price for the lowest end VellFire 2.5l 2WD X grade is about the same as the Harrier Premium - which most PIs sell today around 160k.
So once the new model fever is over, regular supply and no big change in SGD/JPY exchange rate - probably 170k can get one, assuming no CEVS rebate (Harrier has 10k CEVS). Excellent observation, many thanks.
Hope PI can't cheat and therefore X model alphard/VF will be around 160-170k.yahoo! So, can aim for better specs eg ZG or SC model or even hybrid (if PI can convince hybrid battery warranty 5 yrs.) ps: sorry - dont mean PI cheat - i mean PI 'less profit'.
Vellfire export version available in Hong Kong (only 3.5L version), with a Toyota front emblem, but notice remote key absent SET button. See the specs here/can download pdf too.
Hence, potentially, Borneo Motors can bring in Vellfire too. Toyota HK seems to operate under different import restrictions compared to the ADs here in SouthEast Asia. If you notice, they can officially sell many JDM models - Ractis, Axio, Mark X, Noah. And they don't even bring in the Altis. Interestingly, the Toyota distributor in HK and the SG one are under same company (Inchcape). Agree, will not need the powerful V6 3.5 anymore. The 2.5 would be a safer choice (less chance of aggressive/fast driving) with better fuel economy and friendlier road tax, in addition to better resale value (easier to sell 2.5 than 3.5).
Just want it be of reasonable specs with some luxury items/creature comfort. But sad that the G specs or ZG/SC still do not have blind spot (which is available for new Kah Motor Odyssey).
Find this feature to be v useful, have alerted me of small bikes before. Also i think anothe useful feature not available is the LKA or LDA (lane keeping assist or lane departure assist) which is an options for previous alphard/VF (and now even vailable for premium harrier), not sure why this options not available for flagship mpv. Update information: Things not sure 1) Moonroof is it similar to existing model, ie front only tilt up and rear can open fully. Hopefully, the rear moonroof do not follow current estima ie glass cannot open, only just sliding inner shade. Yes, the rear moonroof can slide open like previous model 2) Absence of blind spot for side mirror - yes, no blind spot monitor even for the highest grade 3) The front lights is it position light or daytime running lights -daytime running lights only for the higher specs version ie G/V or SC/ZG model 4) Front fog lights or normal halogen - normal halogen for lower specs, LED for the higher specs version 5) Rear fog lights available?
- the 3 rear LED fog lights is an option 6) reverse lights or normal bulb - normal bulb (sad.) 7) Auto open sliding door upon approach/auto lock standard on all model or only the executive lounge. only for higher spec model 8) One touch open close auto door standard? - standard 9) Front Cornering lights standard? - only for higher spec model Others: Cruise control is standard all grade. The middle row and third row window blinds only for the higher specs model. To have all those higher specs model - choose either the Vellfire ZG or Alphard SC model. The ZA or SA or the V or G model has one feature that higher specs do not have, the long slide passenger front seat.
But these model also do not have the large console box or armrest. Any idea when this car will be available in Singapore and what is the official spec offered by the authorized agent? Probably June for most PI.
Some favourite or higher specs models or certain colours may need to wait Oct onwards. For Borneo motors, heard launch in May. Saw the new Vellfire at Borneo motors last weekend. I think its very nice internally.
The black interior feels very luxurious especially the second row with the electric recliner. The is very plush like those found on premium german models. Although the looks short, it does has a very modern looking design. Height is also less restrictive to MSCP at 1.895m. Not sure if auto parking is standard. However, it is not stated in the sales brochure. 3 models (alphard standard and elegance, vellfire elegance) are offered here.
Suddenly the vellfire is like my most desired car now. Found myself looking through the brochure many times. I think BM is offering 3 years free maintenance package with the car.
However, hope the improvement like an all round camera and the traffic conditions monitoring system similiar to the new bmw connect would be available in the FL or improvements models. Yes, get one, suggest the higher spec elegance. Its the best largest mpv to own - although the 'lowest height' compared to previous 2 generations.
